Description
This tippet material is a clear stiff fluorocarbon with good knot strength and limited stretch. These defining characteristics make it a good choice for everyday use in most situations. It offers great knot strength and low visibility in the water.
Absorbs water to more readily sink and offers an ideal suppleness for good fly presentations.
Every knot is the potential weak link between angler and fish – the knot in the finest tippet is therefore most crucial. The wise angler will always take good care when drawing a knot tight!
Fluorocarbon Characteristics:
Very low visibility
High abrasion resistance
Less susceptible to deterioration due to sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays.
Greater sensitivity
Completely waterproof
Faster sink rate
Limitations:
The shock strength of fluorocarbon is less than monofilament
Knot strength – tightening a knot without wetting the fluorocarbon line, weakens it and the knot will fail. A well tied and moistened knot will provide excellent knot strength.
Available in a range of sizes for a variety of fishing applications. Spools come in handy snap-closing cases for easy storage in your vest.
